General Description

Narrow-headed Gartersnake (Thamnophis rufipunctatus) is a small (up to 0.87 m total length) gartersnake that is considered the most aquatic of all the gartersnakes. In the U.S. it occurs in east-central Arizona and west-central New Mexico. In New Mexico, they feed exclusively on fish but are known to also eat amphibians in other parts of their range.
