General Description

Southern Pocket Gopher (Thomomys umbrinus) is a small (13-34 cm) burrowing rodent that is patchily distributed through the mountains of Mexico, Arizona, and New Mexico. In New Mexico they are found in the Animas mountains. Their live in burrows in oak and pine forests.
