General Description
Ovate Vertigo Snail (Vertigo ovata) is a tiny (shell height 2.2-2.3 mm) terrestrial snail that is distributed throughout much of northern and eastern North America. In New Mexico the only known population occurs in Blue Spring in Eddy County. They inhabit marshy and spring-brook areas at low elevation, often under vegetative cover on damp soil. They eat vegetation and other organic matter.
