General Description
Gould's Wild Turkey (Meleagris gallopavo mexicana) is a large (length up to 1.3 m) subspecies of the Wild Turkey that is distinguishable primarily by its range. It is distributed in the mountains west of the central plateau of Mexico down to Jalisco and up into the Peloncillo Mountains of New Mexico. They live in montane, pine-oak forests where they feed on acorns.
