General Description

Northern Leopard Frog (Lithobates pipiens) is a large (13 cm) frog distributed across much of southern Canada and the northern and western U.S. They live near springs, streams, lakes, and wetlands; usually in permanent water with aquatic vegetation. At low elevations, this species does not reach sexual maturity until their second spring; at high elevations, it may take until their fourth spring to become sexually mature.
