General Description
Whiskered Screech-Owl (Megascops trichopsis) is a medium-sized (20 cm) owl occurring from southeastern Arizona to northern Nicaragua. In New Mexico, they are found in the Peloncillo Mountains. They are found at high elevations and inhabit oak and oak-conifer woodlands. They feed on insects, which they catch in the air and on the ground.
