General Description
Botteri's Sparrow (Peucaea botterii) is a small (15-17 cm), plain sparrow that ranges from Costa Rica to the southern edges of Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas, with the core of the range in Mexico. Sacaton grasslands are the preferred habitats for this species within its limited range in New Mexico. Botteri?s Sparrows will chase grasshopper prey until the grasshoppers are exhausted and then eat them.
