General Description

Zuni Bluehead Sucker (Catostomus discobolus yarrowi) has an average length of 25-41 cm in large rivers and 18-20 cm in small streams. They are found only within Apache County, AZ and McKinley County, NM and reproduce in the Zuni River drainage. They occupy quiet, shady pools and are thought to spend their whole life in or near a single pool.
