General Description
Pale Townsend's Big-eared Bat (Corynorhinus townsendii) is a medium-sized (10 cm long) bat that is distributed through New Mexico to central and eastern Colorado, southern Wyoming, and western Oklahoma. They roost and hibernate in caves and under rocky outcrops in semidesert shrublands, pinyon-juniper woodlands, and open montane forests. Mating often takes place in the hibernaculum, generally following an elaborate courtship behavior.
