General Description
Vesper Sparrow (Pooecetes gramineus) is a small (13-16 cm) sparrow that is distributed across mountain meadows, grassy mesas, and sagebrush steppe of the western U.S., the southern provinces of Canada, and the northern states of Mexico. These birds nest on the ground and are threatened by some agricultural practices and the loss of grasslands.
