General Description
Star gyro (Gyraulus crista) is a tiny (up to 2 mm) Holarctic freshwater snail that is only found in New Mexico in Coyote Creek in Colfax County. They are most commonly found in seasonal ponds where they may consume various kinds of organic matter, including algae, protozoans, and other particles.
