General Description
Red-faced Warbler (Cardellina rubrifrons) is a small (14 cm) songbird that occurs from Arizona and New Mexico south through Honduras. They inhabit montane pine and pine-oak woodlands and will also use forest habitats with Douglas fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii), fir (Abies spp.), spruce (Picea spp.), or quaking aspen (Populus tremuloides). In New Mexico, they are most prevalent in mountain ranges in the Gila National Forest. They nest on the ground beneath downed wood or plant cover objects.
