General Description
Elegant Trogon (Trogon elegans) is a medium-sized (32 cm), stocky bird with a long tail that ranges from southern Arizona and New Mexico to Costa Rica. In New Mexico, they only breed within the Peloncillo Mountains. They inhabit scrubby and pine-oak woodlands, often near rivers.
