Zoology

The Zoology Program conducts research on animals of conservation concern (declining species) and importance (keystone or indicator species). Our research aims to understand causes of decline and supports status assessment, management, and conservation action for these animals and their habitats.

Research

We conduct basic and applied research on habitat use by animal species of conservation concern and importance. We create habitat suitability and use models at multiple scales and identify potential impacts and threats.

Surveys and Monitoring

We conduct surveys and monitoring of key animal species and communities to inform status and trend assessments and assist in setting conservation priorities.

Management Planning

We make management recommendations and create management plans for focal animal species and communities.
