Botany Program

Providing data and research on sensitive plant species to further our understanding of their rarity, population trends, and management needs.

Research – we conduct collaborative applied research and monitoring on the impacts of environmental change on rare plants of the Southwest to support management and inform policy.

Inventory – we work with botanist throughout the state to gather and database observations on rare plant species.

Modeling – using the latest GIS and remote sensing tools we develop models of potential habitat and ranges of rare plants.

Planning – we provide data, analysis, and communications support for conservation planning.
